Why not just switch back to monthlies? I think you should find a new eye doctor too. It is important that practitioners carefully educate their patients in correct use of DDCL and, as cost of lenses is a major factor in willingness to reuse, ensure that DDCL is the most suitable choice when prescribing. Overnight storage in BPS results in contaminated lenses which if reused increases the infection risk especially with Staphylococci. Reuse of lenses poses an important risk for DDCL users because they are unlikely to have received proper training in cleaning and disinfection of lenses and do not use a lens case or disinfecting solutions. Tl dr: Everyone varies in how prone they are to dry/irritated eyes, but whether or not your lenses are colored has nothing to do with it, and if they are affecting your vision, then that is an issue with the prescription (check things like diameter and curvature as well as just the power) and not with whatever design is printed in them. FDA-approved colored lenses like Freshlook don't have this warning because the larger diameters of lenses are not permitted under FDA regulations. I have large, round eyes with lots of visible white, so that doesn't really bother me - the EOS Ice series is 14.8mm and just makes it so that the colored part of my eye appears to touch the edges of my lids at all times, instead of being completely surrounded by white. Large-diameter Asian circle lenses are generally recommended for shorter wear times because they cover more of the eye's surface, which can cause dryness or irritation, especially if you have small eyes to begin with and the lens is covering most of your visible eyeball. There is literally no difference in the actual material or thickness of the lens itself, colored contacts are simply made by printing a layer of pigment inbetween layers of the lens material during creation of the lens. In fact, the iris literally exist to block light from entering the eye. You only see out of the center of your eye anyway - the black pupil in the center is the only part of your eye that you actually see through, not the colored iris that is covered by the colored part of a contact. If that's a problem for you, it will be the same with any contacts. Also, if you're getting makeup or sweat in your eyes, that's not the contacts' fault. Sometimes I will pull out a pair of clear daily lenses if I am going swimming or doing something similar where I'm concerned about losing or damaging a contact, but that's maybe a handful of times each year. I wear colored contact lenses every day, either EOS Ice Green or EOS Ice Brown, typically for 12-16 hours. If you have any suggestions or things to add, please message the mods!
